Paragraph Summary
EGP-XX: Code of Conduct aims to curate a culture based on inclusivity, collaboration, and positivity.
Motivation
With the establishment of Element Finance DAO, it is imperative that a culture of inclusivity, collaboration, and open communication should be the aim, practice and responsibility of the DAO and its members. This Code of Conduct aims to lay out a set of parameters for activity within the DAO that every contributor should interact within, whether in the Element Finance forum, Discord, or any other communication channels
Specification
As Element Finance DAO contributors, facilitators, GSC and community members, we pledge to create and maintain an environment where participation in Element Finance DAO is an inclusive experience for everyone, regardless of age, body size, disability, ethnicity, gender, level of experience, nationality, personal appearance, race, religion, or sexual orientation.
This code of conduct is created to outline a clear set of expectations for all community members to help us achieve our pledge. All participants are expected to review this code of conduct periodically as it is a live document and will be updated to ensure its contents stay current.
- Creating A Safe Atmosphere
- Safe space is defined as: a place or environment in which a person can feel confident that they will not be exposed to discrimination, criticism, harassment, or any other emotional or physical harm
- We expect high standards of safety and integrity for both online and real-world interactions between members of the Element Finance DAO regardless of role or position

- How We Work
- Each contributor is accountable for their own responsibilities and scope
- Internal collaboration with other contributors and GSC members
- External collaboration with community members and other projects or protocols, Element Foundation and external service providers
- Best Practices
- Acting with empathy and respect towards other community members using direct, positive language when addressing conflict
- Respectfully receiving and providing constructive feedback and giving praise when and where praise is due
- Being self-aware of our language and actions both inside and outside of the DAO
- Unacceptable Behavior
- The use of sexualized language or imagery and unwelcome sexual attention or advances
- Trolling, insulting/derogatory comments, and personal or political attacks
- Public or private harassment and bullying

- We aim to let the community manage and resolve any specific conflicts as much as possible. Members of the DAO should:
- bring up offending matters directly with the person causing offense to resolve,
- call out in real time - or in private depending on the subject matter - any show of unacceptable behavior,
- or practicing disengagement
- In cases where mediation is needed, the following mediation ladder will be followed:
- If a conflict arises between community members, a facilitator (at the request of the afflicted parties) will step in and mediate
- If a conflict arises between a community member and a facilitator, either parties are able to bring in another facilitator who will step in and mediate
- If a conflict arises between facilitators, at least two other facilitators will step in and mediate
- We aim to let the community manage and resolve any specific conflicts as much as possible. Members of the DAO should:
- Scope
